What does intellectual property really mean in the context of software? I am thinking about the definition – is it a function of created artifacts and people working with those artifacts? How important is the time factor? Or it does not matter? I know these are not easy to answer however, I would love to hear from people about this. As per my observation, a lot of effort and money is spent on protecting IP, is it worth the effort?

French Open was a really cool event this year, or rather I enjoyed it sitting at home. I was forced to sit at home by all those mangoes and jamuns that I ate during the summer! :)) Men’s final was high drama and was won by person who was physically fittest of the two finalists. Although Coria is a much better player on clay, his legs did not help his cause.. He struggled from the 3rd set and had to lose to Gadsten Gaudio.

Other match I watched before French Open finals was Italian MotoGP! Valentino Rossi is a great great rider of that Yamaha! He had great braking control and even though Hondas had more power, he could hold on to his lead and won the race!

I have been doing some reading during the last week.. Picked up a book on J2EE architect. Wanted to know what it means ot be a Sun Certified J2EE architect.. 😉

Now there this issue that I am trying to deal with – about my keyboard. Remember the PC-XT keyboards? I am used to those keyboards and find it extremely difficult to deal with Num-Lock ‘on’. Any solutions, anyone? anyway, I turn my Num lock off at the beginning of my work session.
